So I hadn't been reading any books for a while, after my Warhammer binge I needed a break and with the holiday gaming season I hadn't sat down with a good book for a while. But my great friend Dan sent me a book for Christmas, it's the Starcraft Archive, basically a compendium of the first 5 books written in that universe.

So far it's pretty good, well written and fun if you like that universe, which I do :-)

I was unsucessful in finding better references bt I did get to take this picture of a Space Marine which Taylie referred to as "Big Feet" 

I can't do it, I can't finish this game. I have tried so many times now but I just can't get past its shortcomings. The saving system and the combat just plain sucks. I do love the old movie filter on the game I think it looks awesome and the amount of content/conversations is great but it's not enough for me.

I will be attending GDC again this year and it should be even better now that I'm working on a title.

A lot of people from the team is goin so it should be nice. It's in Feb this year, still in San Fransisco's Moscone Center.

Added all kinds of Custom lists to the right, gonna keep tabs on what I get done in the gaming world this year... Let's see how much time I waste :-)

Woohoo my little girl is 2 years old today.

She is such a genius and makes us laugh so much!

So latelly I haven't touched my 360 and I have only been playing Call of Duty 4 on the PC.... BUT I have been playing a lot of DS games.

This thread on gaf should help illustrate how awesome the DS has become.

 

 

Basically there are tons and tons of awesome games. so many good rpgs on the DS right now along with a grip of other

So a few of us have been playing Call of Duty 4 and last night 4 of us AMG guys were on and pwning people.
Here are a few screenshots that I took. Itza was too popular to go all out AMG and had to keep his insomnia saints tag on - Marica.

Either way it was awesome and should continue to be, hopefully we can get more of the clan back together.
 

So 2007 was a ridiculous year for gaming. There was a long drought for PCs until TF2/COD4 came out and the tail end of 07 provided us with tons of games we had been waiting for since E3 2006.

So what does 2008 have to offer?

Tonight is the night, this will go live. I have been working on this for way too long. It was awesome to work with the Yahoo! Messenger team on this project and some amazing people here at Windows Live.

This is a huge deal for the IM community and I hope to see this grow.

I had a few friends ask me to put up a picture of my office, so here it is below. All I had was my cell phone so the picture is kidna crappy.

 

Basically I have my dual flatscreen setup / Webcam / IP Phone / Xbox 360 and that's about it from that angle

I wanted to talk about a few of the features that I owned in this release to help everyone get started on them.

 

1. Live Contacts - This feature owns, you can set a contact profile (address, phone number, etc.) and share it with all your buddies so they always know all of your contact info.

 

To do that click on the picture below "Share my contact info"

 

This will bring up a profile page where you can enter in all of your data and choose who you want to allow to view the data. Also everytime you add a contact make sure to subscribe to their live contact info by clicking the box at the bottom of the add dialog.

 

Also remember you can add a SMS (Mobile number) to any of your contact and you can send TEXT Messages for free to any of your friends... go try it out.

Here Anandtech does a direct comparison before XP and Vista on some popular high-end games.

 

There is a 10-20 loss of FPS going to Vista. This will be a huge barrier of entry for hardcore gamers, I hope some of these issues are addressed quickly. Espcically since Vista is supposed to be a "gamers heaven" OS.

Where should I start.

 

- I played in the Ageia championship and WON! The game was CellFactor the physX card only game that should be coming out Q1 2007. I won 5 matches to get to the final match of which I won. I walked away with an Asus PhysX board. It's nice to be one of the only peope with one of these brand new pieces of hardware.

 

-Played more Quake Wars and BF 2142 both of which will be fun strategic FPS.

 

-For straight FPS Prey and Cellfactor were the best of show, with Prey coming in second.

 

-As far as MMOs Fury was #1 and the new one from NC called Aires or something was pretty good.

As far as Huxley is concerned it's hard to tell if it will be as good as Planetside was during beta.

 

-Hardware - Apart from physX cards, Creative had a new PC headset that was awesome the HS 600, I bought one yesterday and should be here soon.

 

-PS3 is amazing, but really for $400 less you can get a WII which is imo as good if not better.

 

Bill Gates announced Live Anywhere, which will be awesome for gamers.

E3 2006 is amazing, bigger and better then ever, and yes this is my first time actually going there. No more watching the feeds and pictures online.

Biggest things to remember from day #1

-Quake wars is awesome!

-BF 2142 is cool and already playable

-LOTR Online owns D&D Online

-Supreme Commander will be the RTS to play... it owns

-Prey/Ut2007 are all great but Quake wars rocks them

-The next Metal Gear Solid Video is awesome

-Crysis looks ridiculous
